Crysis Minimum System Requirements
September 21st, 2007 Posted in PC
Looking forward to playing Crysis this November, but not sure about how your computer stacks up? Well, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the minimum system requirements for the game have been revealed “accidentally”. However, do keep in mind that these may not be final as the developers are still optimizing the game, meaning that it may either go up or down. But rest assured, if you have a computer that exceeds or matches the below specs, you can play Crysis.
CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows [XP and Vista I imagine]
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

Well people may be able to “run” it with those specs but lets be serious folks … the graphics are not going to be all that spectacular on medium/low settings and that is all you are going to be able to get with a min spec system. The real requirements for people to run this game on medium only are going to be higher than that by far. And of course if you want the best looking graphics you will end up spending a lot of bucks and switching to Vista because this game really takes advantage of DX10.

I’m mad they delayed the demo/ yet again. Also, 7 to 16 gbs is a big jump. This is why it’s only going on the ps3 for consoles. Also, I own all three.. So I’m not a fanboy of anything. Damn, 16 gbs of games, 500 gbs hard drives are old now.

I’d say this is about right, Far Cry ran smoothly on GeForce 2’s which was impressive for it’s time. Crysis should run on any DX9 card, and framerate wise, I think the given cards should run it smoothly on minimum.

Crysis is a game which should be run on high settings, nothing else.

I’m probably going to have to get a new modem now if I want to play this online. I have a crappy Motorolla modem for Comcast but if they have ones with higher upload and download speeds I’m gonna get one to help the information transfer go faster. Right now the one I have goes out for a while every now and then. They’ve checked it and said that it’s probably the reason why my connection is always down once or twice a week but yet they still won’t replace it…

i did run crysis on a 2.66ghz cpu with 512mb ram. its quite ok although on very low settings if you have the patience to wait for its almost 15min loading time. i wonder with my current settings can i bust that system requirement? i am planning to buy another 512 ram and/or overclock my processor speed is that advisable?
