DS Sales Reach 50 Million Worldwide

September 26th, 2007 Posted in Business, Nintendo DS by James

According to Tech.co.uk, Nintendo’s DS has surpassed the 50 million units sold. While this is not confirmed by neither Nintendo nor any big media outlets (like NPD), it is quite possible that the DS has sold that many units. Officially, the number is at 47,4 million as of August 2007. Either way, with the holiday season coming up, sales will certainly surpass the 50 million mark this year.

It only took Nintendo 3 years to get this far, the Gameboy needed 16 years to reach 100 million, everything suggests the DS will reach that mark a lot faster.
