Unlock all Halo 3 Armor
Halo 3 introduced to us the new ability to customize your multi player character in a bunch of different ways. While some of these variations you will pretty much pick up by default (like the EVA variation just by completing campaign) but others aren’t so easy to come across. Whether it be racking up a 750 Gamerscore (or higher according to some of the posts) or collecting all of those annoying skulls we all remember from Halo 2, unlocking all of the new customizable armor might be a decent challenge. While you might think it not be worth your effort just getting a new look for your player, some of the armor looks pretty tantalizing like the Hayabusa variation pictured above, or even the Halo 1 Mark V armor. Either way, a member over at the official MLG Forums who goes by the alias of jokrj has written up a complete list of exactly how you go about obtaining all of these armor variations.

The campain scoring do you have to get that score in one level because the achievements will be impossible

I recommend getting all the skulls before doing campaign scoring, the skull multipliers make it very very easy to multiply your skull 5 times. makes a big difference between 5000 points and 25000.

Some armor permutations don’t unlock, bungie has a list on halopedia of some armor that is currently bugged and will not unlock for anyone. Also, certain armors will not unlock on xbox 360s, and sometimes a different profile is required. Hopefully this will all be fixed after they release their first update. I can tell you on mine I cannot get parts of ascetic or commando even though I have the requirements.

i have the katana (all of the acheivements) it is basically the hayabusa body, just with a katana on the back. Although most of you will be dissapointed to know that when worn, your katana can be shot and you receive damage, so its like waving your arm around saying, “shoot me!” it looks cool though and ive read numerous times that bungie will make this their first bug fix. ps add me phantom1107, and i will help you no problem.

Really, is there some trick to getting some of these armors? I have the full set for hayabusa, i have ALL the skulls, of course, ive done almost everything, and yet…. I STILL DONT HAVE THE SECURITY SHOULDERS! I HAVE OVER 750G!! AND WHATS UP WITH THE SCOUT SHOULDERS!? I DID THE “WERE IN FOR SOME CHOP” ACHIEVEMENT!! (should I add that I finished the campaign on all the difficulties normal and up, with most of the skulls activated? I worked really hard!!)

Ok so for 1 commando shoulders are glitched they don’t unlock, for scout shoulders you need Mongoose Mowdown, not We’re in for some chop, security shoulders are also glitched some of us have to get all 49 achievements to get it. Need help hit me up GSG Dreadnought

you need to get mongoose mowdown for the scout shoulders, we’re in for some chop doesn’t get u anything, and to get the we’re in for some chop, start the third level on easy and pick up trip mines in buildings and drop them where their are alot of brute choppers (it may sometimes reqire two trip mine to destroy them)

If it says you must play online, you must. You don’t really need a computer at home though. Just connect an ethernet cable from the xbox to a nearby internet/phoneline port, and you in. You just need to sign up to broadband, though.

I have the same problem with the elite commando shoulders. I have Katana and Security armor full. I have all the achievements also. Also the Security shoulders are now fully pronounced glitched. The gamerscore points range form 750 to even 1,000 or not even getting them. Possibly the commando shoulders are glitched.

I looked up the armor variants and I saw a variant called EOB, but didn’t see it in the how to get the variants up above. As someone has said in the comments that the security armor shoulders are glitched, and my friend had them and he said they got erased along with his EOD shoulders.

I couldn’t figure out what the “we’re in for some chop” acheivement was either. Equipment is the stuff that u drop using the x button(mines, bubble shield, grav lifts etc.) I put a mine in front of the ghost on snowbound before anyone got in it and when someone got in it to drive away they ran in to it and blew up.

Alright first of all i think all that alien armor blows serious ass. I mean yeah its cool that you have to go through all these challanges just to get the armor but cant bungi itleast make the armor some what good looking i mean come on all the human armor and alien armor just looks really just down right RETARDED. If i had to pick out of all the alien armor id still stay with the one you start off with i mean if you look at what you have to choose from its just not much of a hard decision. The human armor just looks as rediculous as well id still pick the starting off armor or the mark 5 armor all the other ones just look damn out right rediculous.
Second I mean as a gamer y nt make the armor do cool stuff like if you unlock this armor it takes more shots to kill you or if you unlock this armor you can jump higher or if you unlock this armor your melee is stronger. I mean seriously y would you go through all that trouble to unlock it just for looks it just sounds like a waiste of time its not any harder to get a head shot off of the rouge armor than it is to get a head shot off of the mark 5 armor. It seems to me unlocking the armor is a huge waiste of time. If Bungie had made it so unlocking certain types of armors gave you special abilities it would throw off the balance of the game, the whole reason for them is to just give players some degree of customization. Although I do agree that the majority of the armors look rather ridiculous, including the Hayabusa which everyone seems to want so much.

well I have an idea go the campaign mode look at all the levels u beat on legendary does it say u beat it on legendary? and if it does try beating the whole game on legendary ssomtimes that’s what u have to do to get past the games glitch I know in the past I beat the whole game on legendary bt it still said I didn’t beat the 6th level on legendary bt some how managed to get past that level and beat the whole game on legendary which is entirely a bunch of bullshit so try beating the whole game on legendary bt before u try that make sure it says u beat that level on legendary if it doesn’t ull have to beat it again like I had to on a certain level and I have 970 out of a thousand on halo 3 so I know what I’m talking about

hey i have a 970 gamerscore on halo 3 the only armor i don’t have is the commando head and shoulders for the elite and i don’t have the scout shoulder armor even know i have the were in for some chop achievement. so now i guess i have to get the mongoose mowdown achievement. i don’t have the 1000/1000 gamerscore achievement for halo 3 so thats pretty much all i need to get the rest of the armor. I just played a game with 6 people vs me and my cuzin and we kicked the fuck out of them on a game shotty snipers on the beach level with the base on the top i got 36 kills and my cuzin got 14 i only died 17 times but for playing 6 on 2 i still killed them 50 to 30 and my cuzin sucks balls at this game how do you like that serious pownege go me and i have 1000/1000 gamer points on halo 3

I’m quite happy with my Rogue helmet and EVA body. To me it is the most bad-ass combo there is. I dont see what the big deal is with the Hyabusa armor. In order to get the “were in for some chop” achieviment
is to destroy a enemy veichle with only equipment like a trip mine or a power drain on a ranked playlist or on campain mode.
The best way to get the achieviment is to play on tsavo highway and plant a trip mine by a chopper and guide it into the the trip mine.
And if this doesn’t work don’t blame me!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLUS I cant even get the sholder pieces EVEN with the achieviment someone HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have unlocked the security shoulders and lost them multiple times. It seems to be random and I’m not sure wtf is going on with it. BTW THE EQUIPEMENT THEY ACHIEVEMENT IS TALKING ABOUT REFFERS TO ANYTHING YOU DEPLOY WITH THE “X” BUTTON (Think Trip Mine)

The armor unloks so randomly, I tried 4 weeks to get security shoulders, got way past 750, then at 900 it unloked. Scout shoulders are M.I. to unlok, I think you have to do “Were in 4 some chop” 3 times in Ranked free for all to unlock scout and keep doing it or it goes away, thats how my friend did it but i havn’t done it yet. Also this kid has a slightly cracked Halo disc and when his brother signed in he started out with a katana but he couldn’t unlok any other armors. I wouldn’t recomend craking ur disc to get the katana though. Halo can get pretty f@cked up sometimes.

If i’m correct (which im probably not) you can unlock security by finding terminals, because i had 450G for Halo and i got the shoulders once i found 4 terminals, so if your having problems with the shoulders try finding all the terminals
P.S: Every copy of Halo has different ways to unlock certain armour, so if you have problemsw with the katana, there’s probably an alternate route to unlocking it

To Silver7: You can get a total of 1750 gamerscore on Halo 3. This is possible because Microsoft allows games an extra maximum of 750 gamerpoints, that they use to add achievements for certain DLC (downloadable content) such as but not restricted to downloadable map packs. Halo 3 has additional achievements for the released Legendary map pack, the first part of the Mythic map pack that before today could only be obtained by buying the Limited Edition of Halo Wars, and the as of yet unreleased second part of the Mythic map pack that will be shipped with Halo 3: ODST.

the only way 2 unlock security shoulders is by getting 1000 or more gamescore in halo. sometimes the security shoulders glitch at 750 but will never stay for more than a minute. hope this helps

Ok it appears that some of you need to have a bit of a cry. i have the security shoulders and the commando shoulders. (note i did not do the achievement that unlocks it, not security i did that one) i just signed into xbox live and i had them(comando shoulders). for those who wonder, yes you do get the legendary achievement if you play Co-Op(you also get heroic and normal if you started straight out at legendary). to those who are sad about their achievements not working, your game may be faulty or you dont have the right ones.

Ok heres how i got a piece of the security armor. Get all 7 terminals on legendary. (Note: Do it only once, if done twice the armor seems to dissapear and you cant get it back)

Security shoulders program is fucked up guys, so you may or may not get it. It becomes permanent if you do more mish score achievements. Add on skulls and play on normal or heroic and your set. Also, scout shoulders are unlocked online. Katana is unlocked when you reach 1000 gamerscore (this means when you get 1000 points worth of halo 3 achievements)if your a bungie employee you have flaming recon. BTW, EVA is if you beat the game at all, no matter what anyone tells you, because ive tested this several times. For you n00bs, play through legendary w/ a teammate and make him be a spawner (this means he sits back in safety while you kill stuff) so if you die you respawn and can go back to your battle, and you’ll unlock EOD armor. Its basically a monkey suit.

Its a rediculous but true and well known fact that a player once recieved recon because he was killed by a traffic cone while playing online with a bungie employee. Dont try and duplicate it, your wasting your time. If you feel special, and really want recon and have the time money… make some machinimas. Rediculous? Nope. If you make machinimas for the company and they dont suck, bungie rewards your efforts with reon. usually. BTW if your really really really desperate, Go to google and type in Halo 3 recon armor glich. lol… i have to much of a life to try or care, but good luck. BTW if you do it, you dont actually HAVE recon, but to everyone around you, it appears that your wearing it.

Yes you can, though im not sure how. Go to a tournament in your district and hopefully you wont suck. The better you do the more money you’ll win and the more tournaments you can do. I did a couple of halo 2 tournaments. Good luck, all though ill warn you, tournament players kick ass. Maybe ill see you in one some time.

I play halo professionaly have 3 360’s and over 50 games. but i play halo the most and have every acheiment, armour and skulls. I am also the third best halo player in the world.(based on online rankings as of: 03/08) so find out everything 4 yourself like i did so u can say i acheived “halo mastery” on my own.

Okay so, heres a fun tip… use the skull that is an acronym: its the last white skull, and it will change the game dialogue… So turn on that skull then go back to that grunt who begs for his life and he cusses you out. Its hilarious.

Yo, i see the problem with the scout shoulders, what u need to do is, 1: Create a NEW Gamercard, get the in for some chop acheivment, BUT the only way u can unlock it(the armor) is if u get that achievment WITH a Bungie employee.Such as Ferrex.(Don’t ask, it was at Bungie’s request to do that). Also i have the Scout helmet, shoulders, and body, and i finished the game on LEGENDARY with all 13 skulls on, BURN you FUCKERS! BUrn!see you on Xbox live i play at 12:00 pm(Noon,for u n00bs who can’t tell time)I wear my scout armor all the time also.

YO,ppl i hav security shoulders. to get them you need to unlock 7 terminals in campaign on any difficulty on the ark,the covenent and on halo. But noobs look out i hav completed campaign on legendary and i hav hayabusa.
My armour description is : Hayabusa head, Security shoulders, and Hayabusa Katana body!

and i got my ranks on everything all the way up, and my
