Unlock all Halo 3 Armor

Halo 3 introduced to us the new ability to customize your multi player character in a bunch of different ways. While some of these variations you will pretty much pick up by default (like the EVA variation just by completing campaign) but others aren’t so easy to come across. Whether it be racking up a 750 Gamerscore (or higher according to some of the posts) or collecting all of those annoying skulls we all remember from Halo 2, unlocking all of the new customizable armor might be a decent challenge. While you might think it not be worth your effort just getting a new look for your player, some of the armor looks pretty tantalizing like the Hayabusa variation pictured above, or even the Halo 1 Mark V armor. Either way, a member over at the official MLG Forums who goes by the alias of jokrj has written up a complete list of exactly you go about obtaining all of these armor variations.

750 achievement points for Halo 3 doesn’t get you the security shoulders. I have 920 and still don’t have it.

The campain scoring do you have to get that score in one level because the achievements will be impossible

I recommend getting all the skulls before doing campaign scoring, the skull multipliers make it very very easy to multiply your skull 5 times. makes a big difference between 5000 points and 25000.

Some armor permutations don’t unlock, bungie has a list on halopedia of some armor that is currently bugged and will not unlock for anyone. Also, certain armors will not unlock on xbox 360s, and sometimes a different profile is required. Hopefully this will all be fixed after they release their first update. I can tell you on mine I cannot get parts of ascetic or commando even though I have the requirements.

i have the katana (all of the acheivements) it is basically the hayabusa body, just with a katana on the back. Although most of you will be dissapointed to know that when worn, your katana can be shot and you receive damage, so its like waving your arm around saying, “shoot me!” it looks cool though and ive read numerous times that bungie will make this their first bug fix. ps add me phantom1107, and i will help you no problem.

For all of you that have questions about this stuff, why not go out and spend $15 on the halo 3 strategy guide. it has all the info you need and it tells you what to expect when you play legendary all by your lonesome!!

Really, is there some trick to getting some of these armors? I have the full set for hayabusa, i have ALL the skulls, of course, ive done almost everything, and yet…. I STILL DONT HAVE THE SECURITY SHOULDERS! I HAVE OVER 750G!! AND WHATS UP WITH THE SCOUT SHOULDERS!? I DID THE “WERE IN FOR SOME CHOP” ACHIEVEMENT!! (should I add that I finished the campaign on all the difficulties normal and up, with most of the skulls activated? I worked really hard!!)

Ok so for 1 commando shoulders are glitched they don’t unlock, for scout shoulders you need Mongoose Mowdown, not We’re in for some chop, security shoulders are also glitched some of us have to get all 49 achievements to get it. Need help hit me up GSG Dreadnought

you need to get mongoose mowdown for the scout shoulders, we’re in for some chop doesn’t get u anything, and to get the we’re in for some chop, start the third level on easy and pick up trip mines in buildings and drop them where their are alot of brute choppers (it may sometimes reqire two trip mine to destroy them)

If it says you must play online, you must. You don’t really need a computer at home though. Just connect an ethernet cable from the xbox to a nearby internet/phoneline port, and you in. You just need to sign up to broadband, though.

I have the same problem with the elite commando shoulders. I have Katana and Security armor full. I have all the achievements also. Also the Security shoulders are now fully pronounced glitched. The gamerscore points range form 750 to even 1,000 or not even getting them. Possibly the commando shoulders are glitched.

I looked up the armor variants and I saw a variant called EOB, but didn’t see it in the how to get the variants up above. As someone has said in the comments that the security armor shoulders are glitched, and my friend had them and he said they got erased along with his EOD shoulders.

I couldn’t figure out what the “we’re in for some chop” acheivement was either. Equipment is the stuff that u drop using the x button(mines, bubble shield, grav lifts etc.) I put a mine in front of the ghost on snowbound before anyone got in it and when someone got in it to drive away they ran in to it and blew up.

Alright first of all i think all that alien armor blows serious ass. I mean yeah its cool that you have to go through all these challanges just to get the armor but cant bungi itleast make the armor some what good looking i mean come on all the human armor and alien armor just looks really just down right RETARDED. If i had to pick out of all the alien armor id still stay with the one you start off with i mean if you look at what you have to choose from its just not much of a hard decision. The human armor just looks as rediculous as well id still pick the starting off armor or the mark 5 armor all the other ones just look damn out right rediculous.
Second I mean as a gamer y nt make the armor do cool stuff like if you unlock this armor it takes more shots to kill you or if you unlock this armor you can jump higher or if you unlock this armor your melee is stronger. I mean seriously y would you go through all that trouble to unlock it just for looks it just sounds like a waiste of time its not any harder to get a head shot off of the rouge armor than it is to get a head shot off of the mark 5 armor. It seems to me unlocking the armor is a huge waiste of time. If Bungie had made it so unlocking certain types of armors gave you special abilities it would throw off the balance of the game, the whole reason for them is to just give players some degree of customization. Although I do agree that the majority of the armors look rather ridiculous, including the Hayabusa which everyone seems to want so much.

well I have an idea go the campaign mode look at all the levels u beat on legendary does it say u beat it on legendary? and if it does try beating the whole game on legendary ssomtimes that’s what u have to do to get past the games glitch I know in the past I beat the whole game on legendary bt it still said I didn’t beat the 6th level on legendary bt some how managed to get past that level and beat the whole game on legendary which is entirely a bunch of bullshit so try beating the whole game on legendary bt before u try that make sure it says u beat that level on legendary if it doesn’t ull have to beat it again like I had to on a certain level and I have 970 out of a thousand on halo 3 so I know what I’m talking about

hey i have a 970 gamerscore on halo 3 the only armor i don’t have is the commando head and shoulders for the elite and i don’t have the scout shoulder armor even know i have the were in for some chop achievement. so now i guess i have to get the mongoose mowdown achievement. i don’t have the 1000/1000 gamerscore achievement for halo 3 so thats pretty much all i need to get the rest of the armor. I just played a game with 6 people vs me and my cuzin and we kicked the fuck out of them on a game shotty snipers on the beach level with the base on the top i got 36 kills and my cuzin got 14 i only died 17 times but for playing 6 on 2 i still killed them 50 to 30 and my cuzin sucks balls at this game how do you like that serious pownege go me and i have 1000/1000 gamer points on halo 3

I’m quite happy with my Rogue helmet and EVA body. To me it is the most bad-ass combo there is. I dont see what the big deal is with the Hyabusa armor.
