As we slowly near the release of Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii, we quickly are unfurling a full list of characters appearing in the game. While it seems like quite a few past Smash Bros. characters are making a come back, a few others may have been replaced along the way. Especially those that come from large franchises like Fire Emblem, it’s hard to say whether Roy or Marth will again be returning, or if they’ve been as quickly replaced.

Fans of the Mother series may recognize this character, or they may not as Mother 3 never left Japan. Lucas took on a key role as a psychic wielding character, quite similar to Ness. So similar that after two Smash Bros. iterations, could Ness have been cut in favour of a new spin on the series? Series creators would be unwise to cut any characters because obviously each one is a fan favourite, but a suitable replacement may very well avoid creating many waves.
