Nintendo Offers Free Wiimote “Jackets”
October 2nd, 2007 by James Hyde in Business, Gear, Hardware, Wii
Nintendo has revealed that they will offer Wii owners free Wii “Jackets” (pictured above). The jackets are made of silicon and are easily attached to the Wiimote, giving a firm grip to those you can’t hold on to their controllers. The new jacket will be included with all Wiimotes, and is shipping to retailers later this month. You can order your free jacket from nintendo.com or call 1-866-431-8367 (remember to have your serial no. ready).

Sweet deal … you can bet I’ll be calling them today and getting mine. This is just another thing that shows how committed Nintendo is to their customers.

Agree. I always hope that Nintendo will become a sort of “Apple” company - continuously updating products (like they did with the DS -> DS Lite). I can imagine an updated Wii next year, with more flash storage and perhaps DVD playback.

Yeah it’s good to know they’re not greedy. But the wii needs more games, it’s just sitting there. My wife never plays the thing. Selling the console is step 1, now they needs software to make mor emoney.

The only reason Nintendo is giving these away is to save themselves, just in case we have more Wii Motes breaking televisions. Being nice to their customers, that is such bull crap. If Nintendo wanted to be nice to their fans/people who bought the Wii then they need to make more than two good games. I am so sick and tired of all the mini games, it’s getting old!
