) I was wondering if any one knows what kind of PCI express going to be used by ATI HD 2950 and Geforce 8800 GT. I heard its going to be PCI-2.0. If that’s the case, can I use a-PCI-2.0 card in my PCI-Express 16x slot?

2) Can the ATI 2900Pro or Geforce 8800GTS out put 1080P on to a TV(SAMSUNG Model FP-T5084) or is it just 1080i? When I ask that question from ATI they said it can, but when I go to the flowing manufacture’s website, it said “HDMI output support all display resolutions up to 1920x1080i only”. Is there some other brand that can output 1080p using HDMI cables?

I would wait another month, the G92 (9800) are coming out with 65nm chips(xbox360/PS3) use. Also, the new intels/amds look amazing. Jan, you can get a Quad Core with 12mb cache for only 300 bucks. SO much faster then the Q6600/Q6850xtremes. Also, Amd lookins good too.

The dual cores from Intel will be only 200 bucks for chips faster then the 1500 chips. Crysis wouldnt even put up a fight with these chips.

DDR3 by the end of the year will be at 2000mhz, god that's fast. Plus, 1600 watt PSU are coming out.

Also, James/Anuban get the newer boards. At least get the 680i board. These support 16x sli, this will rock on 32x sli then 8x8x sli. If you have 200 bucks for a board, get the Asus Black Pearl edition, this has PCI e2.0, this will help out a lot.

PCI e 2.0 can use PCI e 16x cards.

I thought of getting that one as well, how is the performance, especially on large resolution monitors (I have a 1650x1080)?

I just bought a 8800 GTS 320 and I am going to wait for at least 60 days to see what newer high end cards come out and make use of the step up program.
