Did he play the multiplayer, cause single player sucks. I view FPS single player as a waste of time, more work than fun. Multiplayer is what I enjoy FPS games with.

Honestly, when I play single player, I feel like I'm just wasting my time - I should be doing stuff in real life, going out with friends, partying, playing sports. I'd rather watch a movie of the video game (I watch gameplay walkthroughs of a lot of fps games on youtube for fun). If I want to play, I'd play a fun Mario style or RPG game, or better yet, a multiplayer FPS or RPG, e.g. Halo. I've had plenty of memorable experiences with multiplayer games, very few with single player, unless I'm playing co-op or with some other people. Gaming for me is more of a social activity than an exercise.

Ahh I see ... Well I don't play online with Halo so I can't comment on that ... if you don't like the way it plays online there is not much I can say about that.

And Halo is not MY game ... it is just a game I like and feel that people are not giving valid and honest reasons as to why it is not a great game ... other than just saying it didn't work for them for any number of reasons but saying the story is weak ... well I just can't see that at all. Though I will admit where Halo 2 is concerned and even the devs said that forcing the player to play half the game as the Arbiter was not a good decision.

As far as Halo 4 I can't see that happening ... but I do see not only Halo Wars of course but also that project that Peter Jackson is working on and I am sure there will be some other games about the Spartans and the war and what happened to some of the other Spartans. As great as Master Chief is there is problem some legendary Spartan from the old days and they could tell his saga. They may even go way into the future and show glimpses of a new breed of Spartans a ferocious and savage new threat to the galaxy that makes the flood and the covenant look like pre-schoolers. There are just so many directions that Microsoft and Bungie can take this ... that is what is so exciting about all of this ... the surprises that will emerge.

Well, see. You're a halo fan, I'm not. I'm not bashing halo, please don't think I'm bashing your game. I feel the same way you feel about halo as I do for DOOM. Here's the best way to give an example.

Counter-strike/RB6/Battlefield

You can only take up to 1-2 (headshot) 1-3 body without armor and 1-5 with armor.

Halo, I see way to many people just keep running while im wasting them. Maybe, I put my opinion in to fast. But my 360 broke, I need to buy another drive and fix it. Gay, I know. Only 2 days and the disc tray burnt out.

I guess im more of a real to life shooter. I get really bent out of shape when people take 4 hits in CSS. I was actually good in halo 3, for a noob I ranked up to level 4 in 1 hr of playing. I guess, running around in a circle isnt my cup of team. I'm more of a strat/flash/kill type of gamer.

And for the story, I never said it was to easy. It was more of the story itself was weak. Halo 1 was well written, was badass, many things. Halo 2, 1st level rocked, then earth was okay, then the halo ring was kinda boring. After i was that alien dude, I ran around with other brutes and Im like F this.

Halo 3, It actually was fun. But, the ending was bad. I'm sure halo 4 will be coming out soon. They left the ending wide open.

Well you are entitled to your opinion of course WM but millions of folks including me would disagree with you wholeheartedly. I don't know what you were expecting from halo 3 but Halo players got what they wanted and then some. The story is a sci-fi masterpiece imo ... that is why there are so many Halo novels ... it is a very rich world and full of lots of compelling stories. This was but one of those stories. I agree somewhat about Halo 2 as far as being forced to play as the Arbiter but the importance of Halo 2 should not be overlooked. It was very central to the story as was continued in Halo 3. Without the intimate look at the inner workings of the covenant we would all be confused about how the Elites got overthrown by the Brutes and why they now fight on the same side as the humans.

If you play the game on Legendary mode you will have an entirely different experience and you won't be able to take lots of shots and just run through them. It will be more like playing Gears on Insane. One sniper shot will kill you instantly for example. And I don't know what you mean by starting with weak weapons. The magnum is back and is perfect for taking out grunts ... plus meleeing is always effective if you have the guts and skills ... and the AR takes down the Brutes and you have plenty of that ammo to start out with. Then you have access to those new Brute Stinger guns which are downright awesome ... especially when you dual wield them.

No one said that Halo 3 was going to bring anything to the table other than a really great experience and fun time and if you think that it is isn't a ton of fun to get three of your friends together online to run through the legendary setting of the campaign and find all the skulls together then I don't what to tell you but this is just not the game for you. Seems to me you would do better off with RPG games and RTS games ... or maybe you just expected something that Bungie had never said they were going to deliver. But as I said it is your opinion and you have every right to it ... but the vast majority of us do not share your perspective.

Sorry, but Halo 3 was garbage. The story still lacks, I loved halo 1 too. I just don't see what was so great about 2 and 3. I tried the MP on halo 2 on PC, it sucks. I tried Halo 3 on the 360 alot better but people are still running through bullets. I'm the type of gamer that loves to give three shots and the person drops. Halo 2/Halo 3, they just run through them. I feel the game is to unbalanced, you start with weak weapons and 1 guy finds the ultimate weapon.

Halo,Half life,Doom,Crysis. IMO these always suck online. They're meant to be a single player FPS. Look at Half life 2, you start with a SMG, people take massive amounts of damage.

Battlefield
Counter-strike/other mods

crap like that are really better for the online part. They were made for the online side of it, rather then a single player. Now the games I listed are amazing single player games, but the guy is right. Halo 3 brought nothing new to the table, crysis changed the world of gaming. Just like DOOM/DOOM3/Half life/Half life2.

I am sick of everyone bashing Halo 3. People complain it was too overhyped. People complained because it wasnt fair that not all games got that much hype, and in turn, didnt sell that many copies. I read an article on CNN about how people were complaining their kids got obsessed with wanting the game after seeing all the commercials. Now...dont get me wrong, but isnt that a GOOD thing? Isnt that an amazing marketing success? Companies would kill to be in Bungie's shoes right now, yet people chew them to the bone! I absolutely LOVE the halos. I play online, I've played the campaigns probably 30 times each game...and I still cant get enough!
For this guy to sit here and say its too much thinking doesnt make any sense. What's a game without any thought? Goldeneye, Time Splitters, etc...If PCs are striving to be like those games then so be it. I hate computer games, and I always will...Halo3 lives on as the greatest game ever made.
thats all that has to be said.

I find Halo's gameplay more than satisfying ... to me as long as a game is fun then it has succeeded. Innovation for innovations sake doesn't always work. Halo pretty much keeps the genre nice and clean and simple ... guns, aliens, hostile to humanity, time to kick alien butt, etc. It is also a really great story about friendship and special relationships and promises kept. I don't get how Halo 3 was overhyped ... it delivered on all of its promises as far as I am concerned.

People just don't get it that the Halo don't have the best gameplay, but it does have one of the most amazing stories ever. Not only in games, but in any kind of media.
When I finished Halo 3, it felt so rewarding to see it's ending. Not many games gave me that feeling.
If it wasn't for the story, I'd hate Halo. I hate FPS. :P
Good luck trying to give players the same sensation Halo's story gave, Crytek.

It was disappointed by Halo 3, it is way too overhyped. But Crysis is hyped too, so hopefully I won't be disappointed twice this year (as I'm only getting two games, Halo 3 and Crysis, the others will have to wait).

Well there goes any respect I had for Crytek ... that was just an unnecessary comment to make ... so you don't get or like Halo 3 big deal ... worry about optimizing your game so that more than a thousand or two people can actually play it and enjoy it and hope that your gameplay mechanics work well and that gamers aren't saying your game is all looks and nothing else.

It really makes me upset when a dev of a competing product takes a shot when these are two different types of FPS games altogether and besides like I said his game is not even out yet. If it doesn't have great sales figures or doesn't get great reviews it will look like he is just envious of Halo 3's success. People in positions like his really need to be careful of what they say. Add to that that I don't agree with him about any shooters on any platform being five years ahead of another. That is pretty crazy to say. Even Epic didn't make such stupid comments. Notice he didn't say anything about their main competition coming on the PC ... UT3 and Gears. Nope they had to take a shot at Halo 3 and other console games and what is funny is that a version of Crysis is going to be on consoles as well.
