EverQuest Movie Coming

IGN reports that Sony Pictures is teaming up with Avi Arad – formerly of Marvel – to bring EverQuest to the big screen. According to the report, the project is expected as a 2009 or 2010 release and that it will feature an original story; it is also said that the movie will feature some characters from the game.
Famed for 300, Michael Gordon has been tapped to write the screenplay, though no exact details are known yet. The site contacted Sony Pictures for comment: the studio did not deny the report but would not provide a release date for the film.
