UK Ratings Board Rejects Manhunt 2, Again

Despite making several tweaks and adjustments to their horror game, Rockstar’s Manhunt 2 is still banned in the United Kingdom, the UK ratings board confirmed today. David Cooke, director of the BBFC had this to say:
“We recognise that the distributor has made changes to the game, but we do not consider that these go far enough to address our concerns about the original version. The impact of the revisions on the bleakness and callousness of tone, or the essential nature of the gameplay, is clearly insufficient.”
Last month the game got an “M” rating in North America (from “AO – Adult Only”), meaning it was clear for release. European countries such as Holland, and France have allowed the game to be release, in its original form. Rockstar and Take 2 can now appeal once again to the Brits, but few things suggest they’ll file a second appeal.

Pathetic… government bans and censorship… welcome to 1984 (Britain is halfways there already with all the surveillance)

Wow the French get the game the way it really was meant to be played and seen? Man that is something … but really not shocking … as usual the French are ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to reason. This is just a game people … it should never have been AOed by any countries in the first place. Let the market place decide …that is what I say but anyway France and Holland are the places to be for Manhunt fans.
I am not sure if I am going to buy the game or not but I am leaning towards buying it just to make a statement about freedom of creativity for game devs and other artists. However if the game is not good then I don’t want to waste my money and I do keep hearing that all the best parts are kind of blurred out. Plus it is coming out at a time when there are sooo many other games coming out on so many platforms … my head is swimming and my bank account is dwindling.

No surprise that Holland has allowed it, it’s the most free and liberal country in the world, virtually everything is tolerated.

Wow, asif. What a comment you left there…no punctuation AND an annoying speech impediment. Well done! Sort it out, please.
But yes, Manhunt 2 does appear to be set to release in Holland and France, both PAL, both (probably) in English, and therefore both worth looking into.

^either go to holland to get it, or use huge amounts of effort finding an uncut version in this country, or download the game. hard choices.
