EA And DICE Respond To BF3 Rumors

EA and Battlefield developer DICE (Digital Illusions CE) have responded to the Battlefield 3 rumors we posted yesterday. As expected, we (and many other sites) got the usual no reply comment from EA, while a representative from DICE’s Swedish office said something similar:
“We don’t comment on rumors or speculation. Currently announced titles from DICE are Battlefield Bad Company and Mirror’s Edge, you’ll hear from us officially as soon as we have anything further to announce. For any future announcements regarding Battlefield keep an eye on battlefield.com”
Usually companies tend to just deny any rumors regarding future projects, but “No comment” replies usually indicate some concern at the the company. We’re further investigating the rumor and will post updates as soon as we have anything new.

They better get cracking, it’s going to take them a long time to get all those new skins for BF2142. Not to mention all the beta testing and smoothing out bugs.

I never understood why they protect this shit. Let people know the game is coming out and you’ll help save pc gaming. Many bf fans like me were made that you were making and only battlefield (console) game when the series was born on the pc.
If I were the company, and If I was so close to launch I would just say, yes!! it’s in the works. Look at halo,doom,half life,far cry,crysis and gears of war and other crap. They sale good because people always hear about it, if you only have a couple of months of advertising it, most of the time it won’t sell as good.

We’ll I think the reason they don’t tell people about new games is to stop further speculation if there is a battlefield 3 coming out and there is a public release date given that will only start more speculation on what console will it come out on, will there be a delay, will it have better graphics, what will the gameplay be like etc.
Thats pretty much all you’ll read on most forums, this is why they give a public release date then a beta lastly a demo then the full release.

I do think that they are trying to keep this under raps, as for what happened with bf2, they said 1 date, then another, then it came out months later and with many angry gamers, i think thwy dont want a replay of that, although if this is true, and whats in the list is in the game, i will be a good boy and wait nicely

i just hope that the rumors are true…..looks as though they got spanked with 2142 sales and are gonna go back to modern and not futuristic styles.let it be done when its done and dont rush it….i guess they have learnt several lessons from the problems with bf2 ie patches wall glitches etc……hippopig…tpp clan

I just hope there will be a BF3 for MAC OS X and Vista. cause I have a MAC + I reckon they should put a BF on all types of computers - (ie. PC, MAC, Vista…ect).
at least if they going to make BF3 they should some how put it on all types of computers.

The second I heard about the possibility of bf3, I was excited. Why? Because I love BF2, but bf2 has gone to shit, at the hands of lack of EA interest, Punkbuster dropping players for shit like “losing tags” or some shit, which doesn’t seem to be the fault of the player, hackers…
This shit is frustrating! Great game, sure. But COME ON ALREADY. For the next release, if there is gonna be one, screw the graphics. Screw the dynamics. Screw the extra weapons, vehicles and features. Just take the old game, strip it back, make it unhackable (there HAS to be a way), fuck punkbuster off, and slap “BF3″ on it, and you WILL GET SALES. Perfect marketing campaign>>> BF2, we finally fixed it. Sorry bout the shit.

I think, they gotta get their shit organised, and EA (bunch of tossheads) did you know that me being South African, yesterday, coz yea I am behind the times here, I wanted to buy Special Forces, Armored Fury and Euro Forces, lol, and BF 2142 all online and then download them ASAP, and thats like, 800 Rand for me which is a big deal, anyway, turns out I cant buy from the EA Store????!!!!!???!!!! WTF????
Fuck BF3 if it doesnt come out on XP coz I’m not getting Vista just to play it..
and Fuck BF3 until EA lets me buy the games I wanna buy..
Or is there a way? Guys please help if you know where I can *safely* buy and download these games??

BF2 was full of hackers and EA and THE EA UK NAZI admins on there site/fourms done nothing to protect honest players.! Instead EA will say talk to PunkBuster thus, leaving PB to say talk to EA it’s a big jerk off don’t think so just check the links in my COMMENT! EA doens’t take SS of hackers as proof from PUNKBUSTER! It will be full of stat padders/hackers just like bf2. Then EA will make a sloppy patch to try to cover up them pushing the game to fast just like bf2! If you buy this game EA just going to break it off in you again. EA screwed up BF2 so bad with its 1.3 patch you coundn’t play the game for 3 months because the servers would crash! What makes you think anything has changed? Just look at how the admins on the EA US/UK fourms act now like NAZI’s!
Futhermore did you know that the OFFICAL EA servers not ONCE EVER streamed to a MBL(Master Ban List) through PsB or PBbans thus, hackers still played on EA servers! If you buy the game, your just a sucker thats it period.

Wake up, foos. EA leaked the rumor themselves, specifically so they could provide the cloak and dagger “no comment” line. Most game companies do that as a way of 1) checking to see what the response is, 2) generating interest without actually having to do anything 3) attracting investors who then contact EA to see what the real scoop is and 4) pissing off noobs who don’t know anything about marketing.
Why do people talk about Crysis and COD4? Because thos games are winners. The companies making them put the effort into the games, they look and run awesome, and they are game of the year stuff. In otherwords, they will be looked at as gaming classics, and there will still be a cult following for them (like the original NWN) years after they become hopelessly obsolete.

The worst thing i hate about new games today is they come out and there for console only, well at first, software is made on you know what COMPUTERS, they should be for PC first and BF was FIRST, money money MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! admit it alot of people dont know how to ue a PC and buy all the parts themselfs ad get excited about new hardware comming out, oh too hard ill just buy a PS3!!, well there are alot of people who do. Console’s are slowly taking back over the home pc gaming market again and alot of companies dont give a SH*T BUT MONEY!

Well, here it is the middle of May, and no beta. This one isn’t going anywhere until 2009 at the earliest, folks. Unless, of course, they plan on selling you a nearly empty box containing a note which will take you to their website for the day 1 patch (which would be the whole game, of course).
