Console Versions Of Assassin’s Creed Facing Problems

We are a month away from the launch of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed. As much as we’d like to say the game is doing fine, that isn’t the case. Patrice Desilets, the creative director for, Assassin’s Creed says that the team is having their fair share of difficulties balancing the game out so that it is as equal as possible on both the PS3, and the 360. The problem the 360 version is having is the fact that the “limited” 8GB DVD isn’t quite sufficient enough to hold the entire game on it. Naturally, the Bluray disks aren’t having this kind of trouble. Worse case scenario, the 360 version is put on two disks. If this happened the game itself wouldn’t necessarily have to be split, one disk could two languages on it while on holds the other three.
The PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed on the other hand is being challenged by the way the PS3’s hardware handles memory.
“Both have their own challenges. Right now we have a big challenge on the 360 to make it fit on a DVD, to put five languages, to put all the data on eight gigs. On the Blu-ray side we’re really good, but then the memory is quite different. How we handle memory is really different between the two machines and we’re struggling right now on the PS3. But we have people who are really dedicated and we’re having help from Microsoft on one side and Sony on the other side to have the same quality on both systems. It really depends on the week basically as to who’s best.”
Fortunately, as of now there’s no word of the game being delayed from it’s November 13th release date.

I still feel MS made a smart choice using the DVD9, 8.7 gbs is plenty, also I don’t swapping out 2 disc if the game is fine. Hell, I did it on the PSX for crying out loud. They said PGR4 was limited too and that strange thing is the game is only 6.5 gbs big, now what is 8.7-6.5? 2.2! They had 2.2 gbs left over, so this stuff isn’t making sense one bit.

They should have taken their time building these machines, the only company to get it right was Nintendo. 360 facing bad hardware, hopefully fixed and limited disc space. Honestly, this really isn’t a problem.
The PS3, the price. Now the memory. Guys, it’s not good to see these consoles struggle in their first 1-2 years of life span, this is a very very bad sign, Assassin creed isn’t graphical like crysis or Alan wake, this makes you wonder.

The memory doesn’t necessarily mean the graphics. It could be the environment map, character models, etc;

Yeah i didnt fully mean the graphics. Just, I think these consoles came out to quick before they were truly ready for a release.
