Welcome to DigitalBattle 3.0!

Finally, after a lot of time coding the new site, DigitalBattle 3.0 is ready for lift-off!. As you can see, gone is the usual “blog-like” front page, instead, we focused on showing more content on the front page, from more categories and sections. You still get the usual blog layout (post after post) when you visit one of the sections. Some of the major improvements include:
- More content – better overview
- More room for articles – bigger images/screenshots
- Code optimization – faster load times and more
- Featured articles – the best of the best
- …and a lots of other things!
There are still minor design issues which will be ironed out over the next few days, but for the most part, welcome to DigitalBattle 3.0! Don’t hesitate giving us your opinion on the new site. Thanks for all the support.
[Update 1] We have now added a “All news” section, where you get all the posts on one big page, at your convenience. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice, good job!
October 15th, 2007 at 9:25 am
Really good. Nice theme.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:34 am
I like the new look so far except for one thing. The pictures. I really enjoyed the picture for each article, that was one of the unique things about DigitalBattle.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:42 am
Sleague: You still have the pictures, just not on the front page (in order to get more content). Click on a section above, e.g. “PC” and you’ll see
October 15th, 2007 at 9:47 am
Ahhh. Right on! That works.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:12 am
pretty dam cool, waaaaaaaaaay better than the other one.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:14 am
needs a latest comments thing though, hard to know whther people are commenting on anything past or present.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:32 am
This is what i was talking about guys. This looks so nice and professional. Good job!
October 15th, 2007 at 10:48 am

October 15th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
No to fond of the new design… but i’ll live.
One request. Can you guys make a page with all the latest news instead of clicking each category to see news in that category?
Like the old design were the full stories in each category are displayed.
October 15th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Awesome, great job!
I’ll reiterate what Ecko just said, if there was an option for “All” or something to that affect infront of the (PC -PlayStation 3 – Xbox 360 – Wii – DS – PSP – Gear – Featured stories), that would be perfect. Just so you’d be able to have access to all of the newest articles on a single page, for those who prefer just to have that sort of view of all of the recent news.
You may be able to access that view another way, but I haven’t located it yet.
Once again, it really looks amazing!
October 15th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Agreed I like the new set up, except that I prefer the latest news articles at the tope, as well as the number of comments by the bottom.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
yeah i see what echko means i’ll have a chat with hyde
October 15th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Yeah I agree with that as well.
The site looks good, but I think maybe more picture elements could go a long way.
October 16th, 2007 at 2:58 am
You can see the latest news under the “Latest Headlines tab”.
If you visit one of the categories you’ll get the usual blog layout
October 16th, 2007 at 9:14 am
I would like to see the pics like the old site. It was original. I loved it, I liked the smoothness of this site but the pics like the older would be kick ass!
This site we be ultimate if it had forums! James and Paul, make us a forums!
October 16th, 2007 at 9:21 pm
Guys did you know we are the worlds first 3.0 website lol
October 17th, 2007 at 3:33 am
Yea i Have to say it looks great much more sophisticated but when you do see all the posts to look at they are all tiny font with no pictures. i liked the large headlines with a pic. it was easy to skim through and see what you wanted to read about that was why i chose digital battle over other sites
October 17th, 2007 at 3:39 am
ok i found what i was looking for but it only has specific catagories. there should be an all posts page still.
October 17th, 2007 at 8:08 am
We have now added a “All news” section, where you get all the posts on one big page, at your convenience. Thanks for the feedback guys.
October 17th, 2007 at 11:53 pm
outstanding prizes being sent out this weekend i promise
October 20th, 2007 at 10:21 pm
I have to say that I really love the new look and feel of this site. It looks so much more professional and serious now. The thing is now that this place looks so good you guys have to raise the level of your journalism up a bit. Do more fact checking, less interjecting opinions, and better spell checking and grammar corrections. Good job … here’s hoping it continues to improve from here.
By the way what game am I getting and when should I expect it? Send me an email please and let me know the status … thanks.
October 21st, 2007 at 7:46 pm
every who is owed a prize please send a email again with your name and the game you want to gday1234@gmail.com
October 24th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
Anuban: the purpose of a blog is not to have raw journalism. The interjection of opinions is just about the whole point, and before you start criticizing anyone’s grammar you should probably perfect your own.
October 24th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Oh snap son! You just got served! Heh heh. Besides, isn’t that half the point of the internet? A big place where everyone can go and express their opinions for others to disagree with and get into flamewars about? Read some of the comment strings on this site, or better yet go to IGN and check out theirs. I almost can’t believe they give me that sort of entertainment for free.
October 24th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
My grammar is fine and I stand by what I have said … yes I do love to use elipses but other than that you won’t find much wrong with what I write. And I love that you tried to shoot me down but really misfired … it is your opinion though so fine. My opinion is that when you try to do something professionally on any level there are standards you should try to adhere to … and this place doesn’t always do that. I don’t look at this site as a blog site to be honest.
Maybe that is where we see things differently (or maybe you are just being an ass to try and piss me off). It just makes the site seem too much like a fanboy’s site at times instead of being more balanced. Anyway I hope taking a swipe at me made you feel better … meh. Paul could see that I was obviously complimenting the site and their overall work and only suggested ways they could further improve.
Now Paul, as far as the game I want what is the limit? Can I get the Conan game from you folks or what? Or better yet can I just wait and get a copy of Gears of War for the PC? Let me know what my options are please. Thanks.
October 25th, 2007 at 7:50 am
Commas would be a start; you should try them. There’s also that little rule about not starting a sentence with “and.” I could be really obnoxious and correct every error you’ve made, but wouldn’t that be a waste of time for everyone here?
Grammar aside, I was only trying to make a point. Compliments are never easily taken as such when they are simultaneously laden with criticism and snide remarks, and this seems to be a trend for you.
And if I misfired, why reply- and call me an ass to boot. Contradictions!
October 25th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
Oh no you called yourself an ass not me my good fellow … I merely suggested that maybe you were trying to be one … however it would appear that you have confirmed it by going and on and on about something that is completely trivial. Like I said I don’t have any problem with my grammar on some forum board. You want to make it seem like I am writing a corporate memo or college paper … fine be my guest. As for myself this is more than good enough. Unlike these fine fellows I was giving constructive criticism to I am not trying to be a pro on any level. But I can and will make observations about those that are and there is nothing you can say that can deter that. So go ahead keep making yourself look like such an intelligent person by keeping your little facade of superiority up. Obviously it is helping you cope with certain things in your life. Have fun pal.
October 26th, 2007 at 6:12 am
LOL dude, u’re the one with over 1500 posts on this site. Seems like u’re compensating for a social life with this place.
October 26th, 2007 at 7:31 am
Anuubannn I’m here to mess with your interweebbss (weekly hitrate on DB increases tenfold as legend returns after new site and presumably unbanning)
October 26th, 2007 at 9:58 am
You are correct Ewok .. I do like to post and share my thoughts on gaming with other people are who are really into gaming like myself (though I don’t get the point you were making at all since I didn’t say anything to that effect in my prev posts) … and you know what it got me a Wii and two games so far so I think I will just keep the ball rolling.
If that makes me socially inept in your eyes so what … do you think I care what you think of me. You don’t even know me except from some threads about gaming. So if you want to hop on the bandwagon and take a couple of shots go ahead (though I don’t get why you want to start something with me when I was not addressing you at all … hmmm). Its nothing those of us who are at the head of the line are not used to.
Anyway I am really waiting for an answer from Paul about the prize. Do I get to pick my game or what? I already got Conan so what is up? Are you going to send me Gears of War PC, VF5 for the 360, Timeshift 360, UT3 or Crysis … any of those are fine but I need to know which one you will send me before I purchase one of these. So please let me know before next Wed. which is when Timeshift and VF5 for the 360 versions come out and I know I am going to buy one of them.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:49 am
You are way bent out of shape over this, man. You can dish it out, but wow- you can’t take it at all.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Anuban- pay attention buddy, Paul posted this five days ago:
every who is owed a prize please send a email again with your name and the game you want to gday1234@gmail.com
October 26th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
I saw that Will but I am unclear as to whether that means any game or an older title or what. I am pretty sure I made that clear. If you are suggesting I go ahead and email them well I already did that smart guy.
October 26th, 2007 at 5:45 pm

October 27th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
For me I would rather have Gears of War PC thanks … that is great!!! Man you dudes are awesome!!!
November 3rd, 2007 at 1:36 pm
Hey there … Still waiting on Gears of War PC …. It was supposed to come last week I thought but I never received it. Let me know what is going on please. Thanks.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
I guess I am not going to get my free game that I won afterall … well that sucks … Wickerman did you get yours yet? I was supposed to get Gears last week and I waited and waited but I couldn’t wait any longer … I have been waiting for this title to hit the PC since it was announced and so I just to hell with it and bought it. I really hope in the future DB gets us our winnings more promptly or at least on time when they say we will get it. If not how about a tracking number or an email saying it is going to be late. Ahhh. Anyway I need another game now. How about Timeshift for the PC or Stranglehold for the 360 or Mass Effect or Blacksite Area 51 for the 360. and hopefully I get it pretty quickly this time.
