Halo 3 Sells 3.3 Million Copies

October 19th, 2007 Posted in FPS, Featured, News, Xbox 360

Ready for the coincidence of the decade? Halo 3, which we all know has made $300 million, has also sold 3.3 million copies in it’s first twelve days. That’s a lot of threes. Not only that, but Halo 3 has indeed been a huge system seller according to NPD analyst Anita Frazier.

“Halo 3 posted phenomenal results for just 12 days of sales in the month of September. True to its name, the game rubbed off on hardware sales too – the Xbox 360 realized it’s best month ever in unit hardware sales outside last holiday season. If ever there was a doubt that great content drives hardware acquisition, this should put that doubt to rest.”

For those of wondering, the reported number of Xbox 360s sold is 527,000, beating the Wii by 27,000 units. It will be interesting to see how Halo 3 sales do in the long run.

That is insane! In comparison wtih GOW which sold, what, 4M YTD…wow. By this time next year Halo three sales will be well over 10M. What makes a console? It’s games– truer words have never been spoken.
