Microsoft Reveals New HD-DVD Deal

Microsoft will be heavily promoting their Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on this holiday season, offering the same deal as Sony has had for its Blu-ray competitor. If you buy an Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on from now and until January, you can get five HD-DVD movies for free by mail. thirteen titles are available to chose from, and include:
Serenity, The Chronicles of Riddick, Hulk, Children of Men, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Troy, Full Metal Jacket, Corpse Bride, The Prestige, Swordfish, Black Rain, Dreamgirls and Word Trade Center.
Pretty sweat deal, as the movies are somewhat newer than the ones Sony offered earlier this summer. The HD-DVD add-on retails for $199, but several retailers (and e-tailers) have it at a lower rice, usually in the $170-$180 region.

The Prestige, if you have not seen that movie go to netflix fight now or your local blockbuster and get it. That movie is so sick.

This is why I didn’t get overly excited when the Elite came out … I knew that at some point they would build an “Ultimate” version … one with the big HD, HD-DVD, Wireless, and HDMI and so that is the one I am going to wait for. I don’t care what it costs that is going to be one smokin’ system that has been proven to have great games and there are enough good HD movies and more coming so yeah to have that “Ultimate” version of the 360 would be really sweet. I would still keep my Premium but I would now be willing to learn about modding it myself.

I heard it takes forever to get the movies, same with the ps3 offer. I heard people are waiting months on end, and still no movies.
