Xbox 360 Gets Price Cut In Japan

October 22nd, 2007 Posted in Articles, Business, News, Xbox 360

Face it, the Xbox 360 never had a chance of succeeding in Japan, but at least Microsoft is trying. They have announced a price cut for both the Core and Premium versions in Japan, bringing the Core version down to just $245 and the Premium version to just over $300, down from $348. Microsoft sells a few thousand consoles every week in Japan, and is hopelessly behind everything else in the country, but we all knew that.

Japanese gamers can’t be won by spending huge amounts of money on marketing (as Microsoft has done), but by making some decent games that would please those gamers. Games like Blue Dragon and… well, I guess Blue Dragon was the only decent game Microsoft has in Japan, besides Halo 3.
