No Online Campaign Mode in Rock Band

Disappointing many wannabe-rockers, Harmonix has confirmed that the World Tour campaign mode in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band will not be configured for online play. “Band World Tour, and consequently the endless setlist, doesn’t have an online mode,” posted Harmonix community manager Sean Baptiste on the game’s official forums.

The mode allows four players to form a band and play gigs in over 40 different venues throughout the world. Online play via the game’s competitive and quickplay modes will still be included; Harmonix has expressed interest in developing an online campaign mode sometime in the future.

“It is something we are totally working for in the future as not only do you want to play it but so do we (more than you know),” wrote Baptiste.

The game hits stores on November 23, retailing for $169.99 which includes a guitar, microphone, drum kit and a copy of the game. A PS2 version will also be released in December.
