Following up on our last post, which detailed the updates in the 1.1 patch coming by the end of this month, Warhawk director Dylan Jobe has posted again on the PlayStation Blog, this time announcing the details of the game’s next update that is slated for release in December.
The 1.2 update will feature significantly updated gameplay features including new maps and layouts. “We have found that while a lot of players like playing the really large games, there was a pretty big segment that was playing smaller games,” Jobe wrote. New layouts for existing maps will be tailored to matches between four to eight players; these maps are Eucadia: High City, Island Outpost: Standoff, The Badlands: South City, Destroyed Capitol: Garden Showdown, and Archipelago: Close Corridors.
The update will also add support for DualShock 3 and will let players purchase downloadable game content within the title’s interface, bypassing the console’s XMB-based PlayStation Store.
