Blacksite Loses Online Co-op, Gains Multiplayer Mode

October 25th, 2007 Posted in Action, FPS, News, Xbox 360

IGN recently got the chance to sit down and a play a nearly finished version of Blacksite: Area 51, the spiritual successor to the David Duchovny-starring shooter. While playing through the game, they noticed that online co-op, promised in the feature blast after the demo, has been removed from all versions. It is not yet known whether it will be added later through downloadable patches, or not.

Additionally, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to get their voice chat on, while PS3 gamers will have to slay aliens in silence. However, all is not bad: they noticed new multiplayer modes, including Abduction and some new gameplay modifications, including the ability to hold two weapons at any one time.

No NO NO … I you said I could get Gears of War PC so that is what I am expecting … I don’t know why you would post that on this thread anyway. I just got lucky that I happened to read it. I even sent an email to you folks so hopefully you got it and won’t send me a game I already had but traded in because I hated it. Thanks.

By the way taking out on-line co-op is really a stupid move … what the heck are they thinking? Halo 3 just came out and it has 4 player on-line co-op … I don’t get what they are doing by completely cutting it all. It really seems like a bad idea … why not just delay the game and get it right the first time? Why do all these publishers have to be so damn stupid and blind and rush unfinished products out the door? I will never understand that side of the business. It is just incredible.
