Nintendo DS Gets A TV Tuner

October 25th, 2007 Posted in Gear, Hardware, News, Nintendo DS, Technology

When it comes to media capabilities, the PSP has a clear advantage over the DS. But that doesn’t mean that the DS is trying, there is already an MP3 player available, and soon you’ll be able to get the 1Seg Digital TV Tuner for the DS. It turns the upper screen into a TV screen, while the controls are on the lower screen. It will be in retail early next month, for around $55, sadly though, like so many other cool gadgets, it’s only available in Japan.

That looks, uh… pointless. I can’t even get over-the-air TV in my house, how could I possibly get it somewhere I’d be playing DS?
