The forthcoming 1.2 patch for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will add voice chat to the game and implement a number of tweaks, according to a post by lead designer Paul Wedgewood on the game’s community page.
The voice chat functionality will come with a variety of configuration options, with 7.1 speaker support, smarter bots, a threaded renderer that improves quad-core processor performance, user-interface improvements and overall stability. The game’s weapon damage will also be changed based on user feedback and stats.
No specific date for the patch was mentioned, though he mentions that it is finished and is undergoing testing.
