Xbox 360 Finally In The Black
October 26th, 2007 by Will Prusik in Business, News, Xbox360
Most gamers know that both Microsoft and Sony sell their consoles at a loss, making up for it in peripherals and games. What many gamers may not be aware is that the entire Xbox 360 branch of Microsoft has been running in the red since it was launched. However with the incredible sales of Halo 3 Microsoft will be posting their first profitable quarter for the Xbox 360 arm of the company. This is especially amazing when one considers the huge losses Microsoft suffered from having to extend a three-year retroactive warranty on the console to alleviate the roars of dissatisfaction from many gamers who experienced the ‘red lights of death’.

Congratulations MS … you have finally truly arrived in the world of console gaming. Now everyone is making money … even Sony thanks to the PS2 still being popular and selling well. I may have to break down and get another used PS2 because I am starting to really miss playing GoW I and II … Conan is a poor substitute even though it is on a next gen system. I am sorry I traded Stranglehold and PGR4 for that game when Timeshift and VF5 are coming out this week. Damn.

Like I said before, Microsoft is doing it right this time around. Good system, even better games.
