One Million Resident Evil 4 Units Shipped

The game has already sold a million on the Gamecube and a million on the PS2 - how can one expect it to sell another million on the Wii? Well, Resident Evil 4 is on its way to do just that, as Capcom today announced that the company has shipped over one million units worldwide; each copy is being sold for $29.99.
This brings up the series total to 33 million units as of October 30, and so is valued as one of Capcom’s strongest original intellectual properties. As expected, the Wii version makes use of the console’s motion sensitive controller and some new content.
Capcom is also betting on the popular survival-horror series with new titles including Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. It has also made three hugely successful live-action films made in the Hollywood and is also working in partnership with Sony Pictures to make an animated CG film.

The Wii version was cool and I admit I do miss my Wii, but heck I am all into PC gaming again with the arrival of UT3 so I had to make a tough decision but when I am playing UT3/Gears/Crysis in 1680×1050 it won’t even be on my mind at all. SLI, a new mobo, and a Q6600 were just necessary.
At some point I will get another Wii … but the graphics have just got to be improved. Motion control is great though and I do think the Zapper will be a hit. Heck now that the PS3 is 399 and is using the 45 nm chipset I really would like to get one of them as well but again right now I really want a high end PC so sacrifices have to be made.
