EA Closes Chicago Studio

November 6th, 2007 by James Hyde in Business, News

After the disappointing quarterly results, where EA lost almost $200 million, the company has now revealed that their Chicago studio will be closed. EA Chicago, known for the Def Jam series, will be closed because the studio is continuously losing money - the revenue from the games simply isn’t enough to cover the costs.

EA will try and relocate some of the 146 employees to other studios, while others will be assisted in finding new jobs.

Wow … I wonder what that means for the new Marvel game they were making that actually looked kind of fun. Too bad for those dudes … they were really into developing that game … if you want to see it there are some videos of it up on Youtube.
