Man Builds Red Alert Tesla Coil

November 6th, 2007 by Will Prusik in News, PC, Strategy

For anyone too young to have played the RTS classic “Command and Conquer: Red Alert”, there was a particularly annoying turret that fried approaching soldiers with a bolt of electricity. Many people are likely to know that the science behind this device is actually dead on. The original one was developed by a scientist named Nikola Tesla. An Australian man with some free time decided that he’d build a working real-life version of the pixelated Tesla Coil. While his version of the contraption does work, it’s not likely to be zapping anyone into ashes any time soon.
