Destineer Licenses Unreal Engine 3

November 7th, 2007 by Will Prusik in Business, News, PC

Destineer Publishing Corp has announced that they will be licensing the Unreal Engine 3 to use in an as of yet unannounced game. Destineer is a studio that was created by former Bungie executive vice president Peter Tamte. With a slew of quality games having been made with the latest version of the Unreal Engine this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Gears of War, Bioshock,  and Unreal Tournament 3 have shown us that with some quality developers using this game engine, great things are possible.

Mark Rein, vice president of Epic had this to say about the partnership: “We’re excited to be working with Destineer, they’re doing some innovative things with Unreal Engine 3 that people might not expect to see. We’ve been encouraging companies to use their imagination and think outside the box with Unreal Engine 3, and it is exciting to see that the message is starting to pay off.”
