EA Donates Sim City To OLPC

November 8th, 2007 by James Hyde in Adventure, News, Online, PC, Strategy

EA showed some generosity earlier today, when they announced that the original Sim City will be included in every OLPC (One Laptop Per Child). OLPC is the $100 $200 Linux powered laptop computer aimed at poor third world countries. Sim City was originally released in 1989, and isn’t making any money for EA whatsoever, a good reason to give it away. Perhaps they should chosen newer versions, like the critically acclaimed Sim City 2000, released in 1992.

Nevertheless, a free game is a free game. Or maybe it’s just a publicity stunt for the upcoming Sim City Societies…
