Trend Micro Offering PS3 Security

Trend Micro sent out word that it has released a new web security service for the PS3. The completely free service will be the first such service for a home console, coming as part of PS3’s version 2.00 firmware.
The software uses the reputable company’s URL filtering technology, allowing users to block websites which center on racism, violence, illegal drugs, weapons, adult, alcohol and more. It also filters out phishing websites.
The service is free until April 2008 after which a date and method to switch to a pay service will be announced.
