Interplay To Make Sequels To Old Favorites

November 14th, 2007 Posted in Business, News, PC

After a whole bunch of legal and financial troubles video game publisher Interplay essentially disappeared from the industry. Last year they announced their ideas and plans for a Fallout MMOG. The twist? They needed seventy-five million dollars to get it done and unsurprisingly nobody was quick to cut them a check. They’re not giving up yet, having gotten enough money from Bethesda by selling them the Fallout license to re-start their in-house development studio. They hope to bring old (maybe even ancient) favorites to next-gen systems including Earthworm Jim, Descent, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and MDK. They still intend on making the Fallout MMOG and will license their former IP from Bethesda. Joining them in work on a yet unannounced MMOG is Jason Anderson, one of the lead artists on the original Fallout.
