Turn 10 Possible PGR5 Developer?

The acquisition of Bizarre Creations by Activision was certainly a big blow to Microsoft, for the studio was the developer behind four hugely successful racing games that has formed a blockbuster racing franchise - Project Gotham Racing. Fortunately (for Microsoft), the company retained the rights to the PGR series and are now looking for alternative studios to take over development duties.

And it appears Turn 10, the guys behind the Forza Motorsport racing franchise, just might be what they need. In an interview with Develop, Microsoft Game Studio’s general manager in the UK, Phil Spencer, hinted that the aforementioned studio could possibly be given the opportunity to develop PGR5.

“We don’t have any clear set answer for how PGR5 might come to market yet, but we’re looking at a lot of different alternatives right now,” he said. “Obviously [Forza creators and internal MGS studio] Turn 10 is a strong team, and they’re really focused on Forza and it’s doing well so I wouldn’t want to distract them, but it is an option.”

However, he also added that there are other studios they are talking to as well. More details on the project will arise when the time comes.
