Nvidia’s 8800 GT finally has some competition, as AMD today released the 3800 series graphics cards, with the 3850 and the high-end 3870. The first batch of reviews show that the card (3870) is about 10%-15% slower than the 8800 GT, but is also cheaper, and is a great alternative to the 8800 GT, which isn’t in stock anywhere in the world at this point. Furthermore, it’s build using the 55nm process, which helps keeping power consumption and noise down to a decent level. Anandtech has a review here, so does HotHardware (here) and TweakTown (here).
