A few months ago some demos of a game Zootfly was working on made their way onto YouTube. Many gamers born in the early 80s likely had the same reaction I did: sheer joy. The clips were of early builds of a Ghostbusters game. Unfortunately Zootfly had one big obstacle in the way of getting this game published: they didn’t have the rights to the license. As is the way of the internet, someone got wind of this and sat the right people down and had a little chat. The result of this is we’re going to be seeing an actual Ghostbusters game. While this officially licensed game will have nothing to do with the ambitious folks at Zootfly, fans should all tip their hats at them for likely getting this ball rolling. Many of you are likely worried about a desecration of a childhood/adolescence favorite with good reason. We’ve seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers and Underdog all painted with a modern and somewhat unappealing brush. This game will not simply be an attempt to make money off childhood nostalgia: the original bunch have signed on to contribute their talents to what is essentially going to be “Ghostbusters 3″. Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis are writing the script and Bill Murray will be voicing the infamous Peter Venkman.
