Singapore Lifts Ban On Mass Effect

November 16th, 2007 by Will Prusik in News, RPG, Xbox360

Almost as quickly as the decision was made it was repealed. Singapore had banned Mass Effect from being sold in the country due to a scene where the female main character (if you choose a female) kisses an alien female. Today the Board of Film Censors has announced that the game will be sold in the country under an ‘M18′ rating which is a rating given to films intended for adults aged 18+. They also announced that in January they will begin creating a video games rating system. In the interim they will selectively use video game ratings to “enable highly anticipated games to be launched in Singapore.”

lol, the scene isn’t even a big deal. Movies have incredibly worse scenes in them. Meh, oh well.
