PhysX Mod-kit for UT3
AGEIA today sent out word that they will release a PhysX mod-kit for Unreal Tournament 3 that will allow developers and modders to create completely new experience in the game and customize existing levels to enhance gameplay and interactivity.
The mod-kit, as expected, requires the presence of PhysX Processors, which offloads physics calculations and processing to the dedicated processor, thus freeing the CPU to perform other calculations, making the game go faster. To showcase the power of the mod-kit, Ageia has released a series of Extreme PhysX Mod Levels for UT3 as free downloads today. The first set includes “Tornado” and “Lighthouse”, the former of which, as the name suggests, features a tornado raging through the scene.
“We’re excited to be a part of the future of the Unreal Universe. Integrating AGEIA PhysX has never been easier,” said Manju Hegde, CEO of AGEIA Technologies. “Designers and modders can use our powerful PhysX UT3 Mod-Kit and UE3 developers can build on the AGEIA Adaptive Physics EXtensions™ (APEX™) Platform to manipulate physically realistic and interactive worlds in next-generation games – this is what the future of modding and game design is all about.”

Thanks to all at DB … got my package today finally … guess it just takes a while … sorry for being so impatient but this is gaming and I really wanted to play Gears on the PC. As it turns out the game is so buggy I am not really playing it that much … though it does look amazing running maxed out @1680×1050 rez. In the end I was able to take your copy back for the money I spent so you really did in effect buy my copy of Gears. I’m just playing UT3 these days anyway … I doubt I play another game for a long time … the next one would be Mass Effect or Assassins Creed … these are the last two games I am buying this year.
