Unreal Tournament 3 Patch In The Works
Shortly after the highly anticipated Unreal Tournament 3 has been released, a patch is already in the works. As any multiplayer game, UT3 will require tweaks and adjustments for years to come, and Epic has already putting the finishing touches on the first UT3 patch, 1.01, currently in beta. The patch details are:
- Can now save settings/progress even if have never created a profile.
- Added ping and connect time to scoreboard.
- Removed annoying confirmation menu when starting a game.
- Removed unnecessary top settings page (can use tabs at the top of the settings to navigate).
- Added a Messages tab to the mid game menu.
- Friends messages now saved until explicitly deleted.
- Finer control over mouse sensitivity, using an edit box instead of a slider.
- Added framerate smoothing and FOV options to the advanced video menu.
- Increased max players/bots in menus to 32.
- Fixed auto switching to vote menu at end of match.
- Improved mid game menu performance (don’t render world behind it).

Glad to know that Epic is hard at work on improving this stripped down console version of a great PC game. I love the graphics and core gameplay but lets face it the game overall bites. That UI is simply horrible … it really will be interesting to see how well they do the new UI. At least I hope the UI is pretty much all new.
