Hitman Movie Pulls In $21 Million

November 26th, 2007 Posted in Action, News, Xbox 360 by Will Prusik

In a busy weekend for films the most recent video game movie adaptation did rather well. Hitman raked in twenty-one million dollars, close behind the new Resident Evil: Extinction which got $23.6 million. Also out this weekend were the 3-d CGI fest Beowulf (23.3 million), Disney’s ‘Enchanted’ (50 million) and family film This Christmas (27 Million). Given the hefty numbers of the other movies out there it’s easy to see that both films held out well given the competition from the extended holiday weekend. Despite many gamers complaining about the leading man not being Vin Diesel or Jason Statham it goes to show that no matter how worried the gaming community is that a movie will be completely unfaithful to the original game they’ll still go to see it.
