Sunday marked a pretty historical day as Activision and Vivendi decided to merge effectively creating Activision Blizzard. Since Activision is big on consoles one would think that as a result of this merger we might see some Blizzard titles hitting consoles sometime soon. This isn’t the case though as Mike Morhaime, Blizzard’s President, expressed Blizzard’s current standings on consoles and current franchises:

“We currently don’t have any plans right now on the console side. Blizzard’s focus is on the PC side. If we were to release anything on the console side, that would be managed by the Blizzard side of the business.”

This is too bad considering WoW’s subscriber count has already reached 9 million, imagine the boost that number would get had WoW been ported to consoles.
