Users Boycotting GameSpot And Other CNet Sites

December 3rd, 2007 by James Hyde in Business, News, Online, PC

The whole issue of GameSpot editor Geff Gertsmann being fired for a negative review is not going to blow over anytime soon. Today, users are boycotting all CNet sites, including GameSpot, because of the incident.

A whole lot of information has surfaced since this Saturday, all of it pointing in one direction: GameSpot cares more about advertising dollars than honest reviews. As a result, a lot of users are canceling their paid GameSpot accounts, but that’s not the major issue for CNet, the major issue are the long time effects of this - will anyone ever trust a GameSpot review again?
