Cooking Mama Feeds a Million

December 6th, 2007 Posted in News, Wii by Rajiv Ashrafi

One can only wonder just how many copies a cooking game can sell. You can stop wondering now, as 505 Games today announced that the Cooking Mama franchise has sold more than one million units in Europe alone. It was released initially on the DS and later for Wii; it is now the most successful franchise for the studio till date.

Initially appearing in September 2006, the game offers ‘hands-on’ gameplay in the ironic sense of the word and appeals both to casual and hardcore gamers alike, apparently. There are plans for a sequel next year that will feature “full motion, budding chefs” among other things.
