Nintendo Cutting On Wii Ads Due To Shortages
December 7th, 2007 by James Hyde in Articles, Business, Featured story, Hardware, News, Wii
Nintendo is cutting the amount of Wii advertising in Europe, particularly in the UK, for fears that it will generate too much demand — at a time where there are Wii shortages, but honestly, when have there not been any Wii shortages?
Despite manufacturing a whooping 1.8 million consoles per month, Nintendo still cannot meet the demand. The Wii ads will be replaced by DS ads instead.
As of December the Wii has sold over 15 million units worldwide, the DS on the other hand is pushing 60 million, a figure that should be reached this year.
