Although the original site is down, Shacknews carries further details on Street Fighter IV, the upcoming next-gen entry in the series. The game is slated to run at 60fps on both the PS3 and Xbox 360, and will have online play. There will be two new female characters and it is expected that characters from SF3 will not appear in the game as it is set between SFII Turbo and SFIII.

The combat has been modified such that the parry system from SF3 has been replaced with a new system called savings or revenge; supers also also still present though it is yet undecided whether it will be the SSF2T or SF3 system.

Finally, the game is likely to appear in Japanese arcades first in Q2 2008.

Street Fighter 4 is gonna be awesome. A little mad that no characters from 3 return. Alex, Yun or Yang, Hugo, and Dudley would’ve been great additions. I hope Capcom and SNK can revive the 2D fighter. I’m so sick of all these generic online, futuristic, military FPS bull shit! I miss the good old days when arcades and fighters used to rule! When video games where vibrant and had personality to it. Now it’s just high definition this and look at those pretty graphics. Video games are running into the Uncanney Valley.
