Smash Bros: Mario Kart Stage Similar To F-Zero

December 13th, 2007 Posted in Multiplayer, News, Online, Wii by Brian Lockhart

As we near the final stretch to Smash Bros. eventual release, our daily updates seem to sometimes be stalling. The once weekly release, sometimes twice a week of new characters has all but halted after the games delay. Even certain characters that were expected have yet to show up. Captain Falcon is just one such character, whose long run in the Smash Bros universe has so far yielded very little return.

Adding insult to injury, instead of a F-Zero racing stage of old, it seems the developers have taken the stage to Mario Kart roots, where players must evade Shy guys instead of F-Zero racers. While ultimately F-Zero is unlikely to go completely unrepresented, we have to ask why they have been such a hold out on the franchise, or if Captain Falcon finally has been replaced. Sure the Mario Kart stage looks exciting, but it can only remind us of one franchise that so far seems to be missing.
