The makers of Guitar Hero III seem to have stepped into a legal hornet’s nest lately. Not long after a lawsuit arose regarding the cover version of a song by The Romantics,  has been filed against them. The issue is the fact that despite advertising stereo sound and Dolby Pro Logic II surround-sound on both the box and the manual, the Wii version of Guitar Hero III only outputs mono sound. The company had already made plans to deal with this problem by remastering and reissuing the game to purchasers free of cost. It seems they didn’t act quickly enough or decisively enough however, as the complaints addressed in the filing include the fact that the game has still been on the shelves since the issue was noticed and that no action had been taken to warn consumers of the disparity between the advertising and the actual features of the game. The suit seeks to have the money spent by consumers refunded and to strip the profits from the sales of the Wii version of the game.
