Nintendo Announces Raincheck Program

One of the hottest items for sale this holiday season is undoubtedly the Nintendo Wii. Even before the holiday rush they were difficult to find. If you’re really hoping to get one yourself, or just don’t want to buy your husband/best friend/child something else, Nintendo has created a solution to your Wii-less woes. If you go to Gamestop on December 20th and 21st you can pay for a Wii Raincheck. Pay the full price of the system now and in January you’ll be able to pick one up. The rainchecks will be numbering in the “many tens of thousands” so hopefully since there’s a limited amount available there won’t be any issues of customers showing up in January to pick up their pre-purchased consoles only to be turned away due to supply shortages.
