No Online Multiplayer in Virtual Console Titles
Following the Wii raincheck program announcement, Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime stated that the company does not plan on introducing online multiplayer to Wii Virtual Console titles. The service offers players with a selection of downloadable classic retro games from past systems such as the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, NEOGEO and more.
Quite interestingly, this week’s release of Pokemon Snap (N64) added the capability for players to save their in-game photos to the Wii Message Board and share with other Wii owners via online messaging. This means that new features can be added to the past games, though Nintendo does not plan on providing online multiplayer.
