Amongst the debates over the game of the year and the better console in the current format war, is one other way that we can get some cold hard numbers from consumers without just looking at their cash transacations. Google Zeitgeist is the year end post results examining some of the top searches throughout 2007. Obviously well aware of the console war raging on, Google was kind enough to post a nice chart showcasing the changing rates at which our three next gen consoles were searched for.

Unsurprisingly PS3 puttered around the bottom, while Xbox 360 actually dominated up until the very last moments. Likely, searches skyrocketed as we approached the holiday season as the Wii became increasingly harder to find, not that it wasn’t already. It’s a pretty interesting look at where the average searches head is at. For more answers to questions, LCD vs Plasma and online music distributors, check out Google Zeitgeist.
