While the HD format war is still far from over it seems that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be major determining factors in the winners of the format war. It seems so far that there have been 750,000 HD DVD players sold in the US alone and of that 750,000, 269,000 of them are Xbox 360 HD DVD addons which makes up roughly 1/3 of the total sales. On he flip side, the PS3 proves to be a much more important asset to the Blu ray format, making up nearly 3/4 of the number of Blue ray players sold. There is really no end to the war in sight considering both formats have major studios backing them so at this point time could only tell the true victors.
