Wii Raincheck Details

December 18th, 2007 Posted in Business, News, Wii

Official, concrete details have surfaced regarding the upcoming ‘raincheck’ program that Nintendo has created in order to get more Wiis (or at least the guarantee of one) into customers hands before the holiday shopping rush is over. As stated previously customers can go into a Gamestop and pay the full $249.99 to guarantee themselves a copy of the Wii next month. While it was previously announced that the program would happen for two days, it’s now been cut down to a single day, December 21st. The raincheck receipts will come in a custom-designed DVD case with pictures of a Wii and Mario on them. Customers will be guaranteed to get their Wiis no later than January 25th. There isn’t an official number yet as to how many rainchecks will be sold, but it is definitely going to be a finite amount.
