Hoping to cater to the disaster junkies out there, Codemasters today announced Emergency Mayhem for the Wii. Set for release during Q2 2008, the game puts the player in charge of the three emergency services to hold together Crisis City, the game’s “mad” city.
The title will combine driving sequences with arcade mini-games, having players control the police, fire service or paramedics as they race throughout the city to save people from burning buildings or capture criminals. There will be over 30 missions, with a catch of course:
However, in this city, the emergencies are of a decidedly slapstick nature; crazy situations will have you hurling bananas at out-of-control monkeys, using a trampoline to bounce escaping prisoners back into custody and herding penguins to safety with hilarious consequences. In a city where there’s always an urgent situation calling out for your attention, even those mischievous monkeys will get in your way.
The game will also make use of shortcuts and the Wii’s motion-sensitive controllers. As stated above, the game hits stores Q2 2008.
