SCEA Boss: “3rd Party Developers Going for PS3″
December 20th, 2007 by Rajiv Ashrafi in Business, News, PlayStation 3
SCEA boss Jack Tretton believes the days of developers dumping poor ports of games on the PS3 are over. Apparently, (unspecified number of) developers have told him that they are creating their games on the PS3 first and taking advantage of its hardware capabilities and then port it to other consoles. “So we are seeing tremendous progress from the third party community in terms of what they are able to do with our development kits,” he concludes.
Tretton, however, doesn’t say which developers and just how many developers are following what he said. Unless developers come forward and spill their secrets, we will still have to endure the poor PS3 ports.
