Guillermo del Toro on Halo Movie

December 26th, 2007 Posted in Action, FPS, News, Xbox 360 by Rajiv Ashrafi

When the Halo movie was still a possibility, Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro was a tentative director, but he chose to go with Hellboy 2, which is due out next year. Over on AICN is an interview where they talk with the director about his current project, as well as his thoughts of Mountains of Madness (another project he was supposed to take) and Halo. Here’s the scoop:

Del Toro: It would have been beautiful and I must tell that’s a… of anything in my life that I look back and wish it could have happened is that project, because it is such a powerful experience. People talk about it and say “it’s ALIENS or it’s a retread of this or that,” I don’t think so. I think there are angle to that game that are far more epic and far more complex as a cosmology than that. It’s not just about grunts in space. It’s much more than that. It’s a whole epic.

What do you guys think? Was he suitable for Halo? Was Hellboy 2 a better choice for him?
